The American Public
Chapter One: The American Public began as a "guitars and beats" band formed by Ben deHoedt and Matt Harris in Adelaide, South Australia in 2000. Joined by Tim Mortimer, the three piece released their first EP (featuring "Jailsong") in 2001, having recorded everything in a bedroom using a 4 track mini disc recorder and iMac. Later joined by drummer Mel Horsman, the band went on to write and record dozens more songs of an increasingly diverse nature.
